Stone Sculpture Base SSB01

Stone Sculpture Base SSB01 was hand selected from the quarry in Dorset, UK and sawn in the workshop. Initially selected to function as a base for a sculpture. Measuring just over 850mm long, 420mm wide and 640mm high. This would look absolutely perfect with a stone, metal or steel sculpture placed on top. The top has been carefully polished with a number of varying grits to remove the machine saw marks. The light colour palette on the top contrasts beautifully with the darker natural edges. Light and shadows will bounce off the top as natural sunlight sweeps across creating interest and movement. The base has not been cut and has a natural irregular finish. The ground would need slight alterations in order to level up this stone. Alternatively this could be set in concrete and levelled off. This has only just been photographed after waiting for some sunshine to appear. Gallery images try to highlight the contrasting tones. The green leaves pop when placed against the lighter tones of the rock. If you like this Stone Sculpture Base SSB01 but prefer a working water feature then please consider Stone Boulder SB70 Water Feature or Stone Boulder SB66 Water Feature which combines both the water element and a seating area. We have another similar stone slightly longer at 1.2metres long which will be added to the website shortly. Alternatively we could convert this into a working water feature by core drilling vertically through the stone. This would also work well with a bowl carved out of the top. We have a number of large Purbeck Stone Boulders in the yard ready to go. Smaller 10/20mm aggregate has been used around the base of the stone boulder and we can supply small 20kg bags of this if required.

Examples of Purbeck Stone used to great effect is Chris Beardshaws award winning RHS Chelse Flower Show Garden in 2022 with the RNLI Garden. This was used extensively for the winding path running through the design.
