Japanese Garden Case Study
The designers Instant Scenery chose a Large Monolith Standing Stone as the centre piece in this stunning Japanese Garden Design. Having designed and landscaped the front garden of this property last year unsing one of our Large Slate Monoliths, Dan at Instant Scenery got in touch to discuss the design for the rear garden. A natural light coloured tone was required to compliment the wider design and blend harmoniously with key design features. Stone Monolith SM253 was chosen for it’s height, shape and natural rugged texture. The successful design incorporates a number of key Japanese Garden Design principles, including a variety of stones and after different heights and sizes which are all complimentary. Bridges and walkways feature throughout taking you on a magical journey as you progress through the space. Finally, subtle low level planting such as grasses and ferns help balance the colour and merge the soft and hard finished. Take a look at the finished design below. It is no surprise this design and build was also nominated for the ‘Project Value under £20,000’ at the APL Awards 2024. If you have a project in mind and you would like to discuss your ideas in more detail, please do contact us as we are more than happy to help advise on stones, suitability and placement.
