Product Notes
Every Welsh Slate Water Features product is a completely unique piece of natural stone. This means they vary greatly in colour, texture, riven, tone and size from piece to piece. All sizes are approximate although every effort is made to provide the most accurate references possible. Monoliths, Japanese Stones and Window Stones are all photographed individually. Stack Pyramids have both our own stock photos as well as customer photos. Most Boulders are photographed individually, except bulk loads.
On Site Lifting
Many of our stones and monoliths are so large we often hear questions from customers about how they move the pieces on site once delivered. We can arrange the complete lift into position using our network of 3rd party specialists with suitable crane mounted lifting equipment. However, before we commit to providing this, we will need to know a number of factors such as location, obstacles, proximity, reach, access etc. Once we have all this information we can then provide a quote for the work and a lead time.

A recent addition to the lifting team is this heavy duty sack truck. A small lip on the bottom enables the tilting and lifting of large slate and stone boulders. Coupled with our digger ramps, we’re able to safely navigate sloping ground aswell as stepped gardens with varying levels. This does require careful planning as access to the garden is key. Contact us with any questions or queries.
Please find the details below for two great solutions, note they are entirely separate companies from us and simply offer a relevant service.
The Hooka is a tracked lifting machine, ideal for tight access with it being only 1 metre wide and it can carry up to 1.5 tonne safely. They can be hired on a day rate from a number of high street tool hire stores and also be hired with an operator.

Another option is the Avant which is fast becoming a must have piece of machinery for medium to large landscapers and designers. With savings on manual labour moving and shifting materials and supplies into location. With a range of sizes available, the largest being the 860 which can safely lift up to 1.9 tonne, these are a great bit of kit which can be hired from a number of locations across the country.
Another alternative which we have recently identified is the Dragon Lifter. With two options including the LF750 and LF1000 these narrow machines can navigate tight spaces easily and lift 750kg and 1000kg respectively. These can be hired from a number of tool hire centres across the UK. Not only are they perfect for placing large stone monoliths in place or awkward shaped boulders, they’re also useful in moving landscaping supplies around on site and closer to required areas of the garden or project.
