Futurescape 2024

Welsh Slate Water Features attended Futurescape 2024, the UK’s largest landscape expo and trade event, with seminars, live debates and a fantastic variety of exhibitors. Held on October 15th & 16th at the Excel London. Take a look at the video below of last years highlights.

We were lucky to attend the Futurescape 2024 Event on the first day, Tuesday 15th 2024. The journey upto the Excel was pretty smooth arriving at the doors around 10:00. During check in we bumped into Olly from Hardwood Landscapes and Justin from JJH Landscapes and headed over to the Business Theatre for the 10:30 talk by Adtrak titled “Attract more customers from your digital advertising campaings”. A very informative session with Ben and Luke sharing some key knowledge and experience covering a range of digital marketing techniques and tools.

Turning footage into financial gain was a sell out and even though we arrived early for this we were unable to get a seat. This was always going to be a popular one, with key influential people in the industry. Lucy Willcox Garden Design shared some very interesting insight into her strategy and approach on how she has amassed a massive following on Instagram. Lucy has designed some incredible award winning gardens across London and the South. Olly from Hardwood Landscapes focused more on his growth of long form content on youtube where he shares insights into running and growing a landscaping and maintenance business in the south of england. We have been fortunate to supply Olly with a range of water features over the years. Marc Murray from Murray Landscapes shared some key motivational tips and the opportunities that have arisen through the growth of his profile on Instagram. Hosted by Mark Lane from Landscapia, he did a great job orchestrating and managing the interaction with the audience.

Futurescape Seminar 2024 | Welsh Slate Water Features 01

The Stone Theatre focused on a number of interesting discussions and the highlight for us was Unpacking the UKs Geological Landscape led by Matt Rob, Neil Davidson and Paul Kenrick. The Evolution Garden at the National History Museum looks very exciting and we will be going to see this during our next trip to London.

There were a number of lighting designers on display which caught our eye and great to see them flying the flag for Made in Britain. Hudson Lighting were displaying a range of products specifically designed for garden lighting ranging form up lighters, downlighters and directional spike lighting which would be perfect for our water features. Neil Parslow Lighting Design were also displaying some quality lighting kits and on hand to explain the various configuration options and settings. We would love to introduce a lighting range to compliment our designs further.

In summary Futurescape 2024 was a great event. Very inspiring with a great range of suppliers on show, all very approachable and knowledgable about the industry and their products. The seminars were informative and engaging with current headline topics being discussed in detail. There aren’t many events where so many leading industry specialists all gather in one easily accessible location such as the Excel.
