Oxford Rockery Case Study
The owners of this incredible wild rustic rockery garden in Oxford used many natural stones from us as features in their design. It’s great to see a huge development come together and we’re really pleased to see how the stone we supplied has enhanced the space. We’ve been sent a number of photos of different elements within the garden so in this case study we take a look at those individual pieces and how they relate to the bigger picture.
Window Stone
This large chunky window stone is crafted from real Welsh Slate and brings interest and intrigue to the rugged textures of this design. As well as the usual blue, grey and plum tones one associates with slate, this piece features some beautifully unique streaks and splashes of colour.
Water Feature
The flow of water is always a good option in a garden design, instantly adding a sense of peace and tranquility to any space. In this garden a large rustic monolith that has been core drilled provides a constant cycle of water, with a hidden reservoir and pump.
Waterfall Stones
Running water is a recurring theme in this landscaping project, with a natural stream and waterfall ledge adding to the monolith as water features. These large slabs of Welsh Slate are stacked to resemble an authentic mountain tributary stream.
Standing Stones
The flow of water is always a good option in a garden design, instantly adding a sense of peace and tranquility to any space. In this garden a large rustic monolith that has been core drilled provides a constant cycle of water, with a hidden reservoir and pump.
Landscaping Rocks
This wonderful garden is a great example of what can be achieved by using decorative natural stones in landscape designs. Rugged organic textures combined with free flowing water and careful planting make this space one to envy!
